When technology exploded into our reality in the proportions it did a hundred years ago, our lives became suddenly transformed as never before. We were amazed, astonished, bewildered, and frightened. It was a great time for thought and experimentation, for discovery and speculation. When the artists began to create works of imagination that pushed the limits of possibility, we fell in love. It was not until the media began to entertain us with these thoughts that we ever started seeing Visitors from Outer Space. Those who claim to know all about the secrets of the Space People will tell you that they stayed away from the Earth before then because we were only animals. When it became apparent that our intelligence was high enough to become dangerous, they noticed us. The Space People began coming in their spaceships to keep track of what we were doing; abducted us and started performing weird experiments to test our strengths and weaknesses, and our breeding habits; spying on our technologies and setting up secret meetings with key government officials and heads of State. We began to see them everywhere. Flying Saucers, Strange Cigar shaped objects, Glowing Spheres, all moving at tremendous speeds through the sky. It was exciting! It was fun! It was better than talking about GOD because it was more REAL! This is a fringe reality subject that is safe to talk about. Nowadays, it is more acceptable to believe in UFO's than it is to believe in Jesus. For mainstream entertainment, it cannot be beat.
Just before the turn of the last century came the first great visionary writers which began Science Fiction. Soon the were many. Jules Verne was one of the first, if not THE first. H.G.Wells was there in this time period. Edgar Rice Burroughs also brought us several Sci-Fi Classics of space travel and mysterious other worlds. Almost the very first Motion Picture was a Sci-Fi film: George Menzies "From the Earth to the Moon" was our first moving visual of space travel. Similar to the mental chaos and turmoil that we are going through now, in the last year of this millennium, the people of that time stood in great wonder at the technological achievements of the species, and pondered the future with fear and panic of impending DOOM. Advancing technology made monsters of otherwise decent people, and it was a worldwide phenomena. Scientifically superior cultures and nations used the cutting edge to cut down others they had conflicts with throughout the globe. The strivings and wantings and growing needs and fears of people of 100 years ago allowed them to begin a cycle of wars and conquests that was only slowed down a bit by the arrival of the Atomic Age. Several major changes in attitudes of government arose in this time of rapid technological advancement. There were those who were of the times, and those who fell behind the times. Those who felt they had the upper hand, and thought they needed more power, took it during the first decades of the 20th century. The most notable of these being the Communist Revolutions in China and Russia. But there was also the Attitude of superiority growing in Prussia, that would start not only one, but two World Wars; One in 1914, and another only 15 years later.
The role of the media, in all of it's various forms, was very influential also in this time. Early Silent motions pictures such as Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" (1926), and Sergei Eisenstein's "The Battleship Potempkin" (1925), had great impact upon the world of the time. Though only Metropolis can be classified as Sci-Fi, both serve a purpose here to describe the power of the media over the masses, which is part of what this writing is all about. If it were not for the media programming us, we would not believe in half of the things we do. That one person has an idea is nothing to be concerned with. That many see the same things and feel the same way about it gives it more credibility, even if purely a fictional idea. Such has happened with the idea of UFO's and Extraterrestrials it seems. Most people will not say they believe until someone else says so. This is human nature. This is referred to as "Consensus Programming" of the masses. Even if we all have doubts and questions about some idea we have been exposed to, we will all tend to agree. We are too afraid to be different. Whenever you here someone use the term "Every says..." you know you are dealing with a weak minded fool who cannot form his/her own opinions with out fear. (Unfortunately, this applies to most of us!!!)
With the rise of the Atomic Age in the early 1950's, there was a whole knew revival of Sci-Fi in the media. Sightings of UFO's really became a part of our American culture during this time. The Paranoia surrounding the Atomic age, the Cold War with the Communists, the possibility of Global Destruction, all came to bear upon the masses. The artists were right there with the media, both to capitalise upon it, and offer hope. There were multitudes of new monsters from outer space to fill our minds with new terrors, to somehow calm our feelings about the tensions between East and West. Many of these early 50's Sci-Fi movies like "Invaders from Mars" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" among others, were playing upon our McCarthy Era fears. You never knew if your neighbor, friend, or even spouse might be the unseen enemy - Until it was too late!!! And there were the movies about escape from a world about to be destroyed by uncontrollable forces, like "When Worlds Collide". And even movies about friendly alien visitors appealing to the nations of the world to end their aggressive tendencies, or be destroyed, like "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
Then, of course, capitalising on the conspiracy and cover-up mythos, there were the movies and stories of the government hiding the truth about UFO's and the Space People from the general public. They had to hide the truth. Joe Pinko Commie might be living right next door in Hometown USA; Reading the same newspapers, watching the same TV shows, and listening to the same radio broadcasts. He was also secretly reporting back to Moscow about everything he knew anything about. This was both the reason for the general public not to know, and also the reason that the myth was began in the first place.
Now then, I am not talking about conspiracy theories or secret cover-ups. I am talking about programmed "misinformation" and psychological warfare. (Which, from my view in 1999, has apparently worked.) Area 51, Roswell New Mexico, Secret Bases, US Government acquisitions of Alien scientific achievements well beyond anything we know of as high tech. Who has NOT heard these rumors? Who does not know someone that is, or was, in the US military between 1960 and 1985 that does not talk about "Secrets that are classified - I could go to prison in Leavenworth Texas for years if word got out that I said I heard anything..." I have heard the SECRET STORY of the US involvement with extraterrestrial intelligence so many times that I don't know which US serviceman, or woman, I heard it from first.
It is not the simple fact that I have spent many hours gazing into the night sky looking for UFO's and not seen any. It is not based upon my own knowledge of the vast universe and the problems that make faster than light travel not impossible, but pointless. It is the political and social implications of the whole idea that make me question it. Whether Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines; I have heard this story, and been assured that the government is keeping something secret from the common people.
I feel that this is a Programmed Myth. with the sole purpose of identifying the USA with something more advanced than anything anyone on the planet can conceive of. The powers that spread this myth to the people being programmed to be warriors in an age where war is looked down upon as futile have many things to benefit them from the promulgation of such a myth. Number one: They gain faith that what the government is doing is backed up by power that can destroy any enemy that comes unto us. (Removal of fear is the first course of belief.) Number two: They know that whatever penalty is threatened, people will still talk, being unable to live with such a powerful secret; thus carrying the myth to their close friends and families. And, Number three: That anyone who is/was an enemy Communist agent will send the message to his/her superiors as being of the most secret nature. Number four: That the outside enemy powers will find the myth to be TRUE based upon the circumstances; and the fact that the USA knows the Soviets are very superstitious. (They have avoided, in the past, much radio broadcast for fear of what EMF might do to the brain! ) Those who programmed these service people with this idea knew exactly what they were doing - winning a Cold War! And it DID work! The once feared and dreaded Soviet Empire has fallen. Now we have only to deal with the Red Dragon of China. They will not fall so easily as the USSR did. These people of the Far East had a civilization going well and strong while the Anglo-Saxons were still beating upon each other without any form of even written communication. That the Chinese have been struggling against their enemies for nearly 6000 years is something we will have to get to a much higher level than we are at to ever even call a draw with.
The point I am making is simply that I believe there are NO UFO's at all, beyond the ones that are rockets and satellites that the government makes no claim to. (All to perpetuate the MYTH - and it is working!) The Whole idea is fantasy from a scientific viewpoint (- A TRULY scientific viewpoint). If we talk of the prophecy of Revelations; that says the world will as one have but one heart and mind... How is this possible at all? When it is possible for all peoples and cultures and traditions to be of ONE heart and mind, it will be only when we encounter something that is bigger and stronger and more powerful than anything we see as individuals. We can fight about who is evil and good. We can fight about whose GOD is righteous and true. We can fight about who is saved and who is lost up until the point that we are faced with an enemy that comes to take us on at last: An enemy from another world! When this should happen (and it WILL, either in reality or fantasy,) we will at last understand that no matter what color or creed, no matter what tradition or belief, we all will DIE, and all bleed RED, and we are really ALL brothers and sisters here on this rock we call Earth, despite the differences we hold onto so dearly. That is when we will at last see. That is when we will be able to throw down the barriers and FIGHT together at long last. An "Out of this World" enemy is what we will require to ALL be brought together at last. There cannot be one king of the world if there is not one nation that is world wide. The bibg men who seek the most power possible are working toward this goal. The most powerful individual in this country is not the most powerful in the whole world. Because there are many governments and many cultures of people, there can be no one person in control of everything. For the big boys to be able to duke it out in an arena for control of the planet, the arena must first be built. The one sure way to bring all the nations and peoples together is to create an enemy that threatens us all.
What I am really trying to tell anyone who will listen, is that it will not be a real enemy that comes from outer space to threaten our planet at all. This will be an artificial enemy that does not even exist!!! But by then we will have been so cultivated and programmed with this idea that we will respond without question. It is still a long way off, but not as far away as you might think. BEWARE!!!!!!
The Big Boys who are calling the shots and making things happen, are playing a game called "Who will Be the King of the World?" They are eating the competition everyday. Weeding out the weaklings and narrowing the participants in the game is the task of the day, and it is the media that is the tool of power. Vying for control over economic, political, and religious resources is the game at the core.
